Frequently Asked Questions
Is solid wood better than MDF for a New Zealand bathroom vanity?
Yes. Solid oak vanities are generally more durable and moisture-resistant than MDF, making them better suited to New Zealand’s humid bathroom environments. Compared with MDF or even a plywood vanity, solid wood offers superior strength, longevity, and a more premium feel, especially when treated with a multi-stage moisture-resistant finish like the 8-stage process used on this Caroline vanity.
How much storage space does a 1200mm vanity offer for a family?
A 1200mm-wide vanity provides generous storage for family use. The wide cabinet and full-extension, soft-close drawers can comfortably hold toiletries, cleaning products, towels, and everyday essentials.
It’s an ideal size for medium to large bathrooms, especially when paired with other bathroom fixtures such as shower enclosures for a well-balanced layout.
Does the handcrafted Hampton vanity include the basin and countertop?
Yes. The Caroline 1200mm vanity includes a premium natural white marble countertop and your choice of either:
- a ceramic under-mounted basin, or
- a countertop vessel basin,
both at no additional cost. Please note that tapware and waste fittings are not included.
What is the best way to clean and maintain a solid wood vanity?
To keep your solid wood vanity looking its best:
- Wipe surfaces regularly with a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners
- Clean spills promptly to prevent moisture penetration
- Ensure good bathroom ventilation to reduce humidity
This routine will help protect the wood finish and preserve its appearance for years.
Can I choose between a vessel (top-mounted) or an inset basin?
Yes. This vanity offers flexibility, allowing you to choose either a vessel (top-mounted) basin for a bold, designer look, or an inset under-mounted basin for a cleaner, more traditional aesthetic. Both options are included, making it easy to tailor the vanity to your bathroom style.
